Georgia Newman has over two decades of legal experience and is licensed to practice in Florida and before the United Stated Supreme Court.
Ms. Newman has been President of the Craig S. Barnard American Inn of Court, a professional organization comprised of judges and attorneys devoted to improving the practice of law, Chair of the Family Law Continuing Legal Education Committee of the Palm Beach County Bar Association, and the Unified Family Practice Committee of the Palm Beach County Bar Association, Executive Board member and State representative of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers, Palm Beach County Chapter as well as chair of several committees. She is a member of the Family Law Section of the Florida Bar, an emeritus member of the Craig S. Barnard American Inn of Court, the Susan Greenberg American Inn of Court (Family Law), and is a member of the Palm Beach County Bar Association and North County Section of the Palm Beach County Bar Association.
Ms. Newman has an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell and has been recognized as a Super Lawyer every year since 2014 – including this current year. Ms. Newman has been selected to the 2015 list as a member of the Nation’s Top One Percent by the National Association of Distinguished Counsel. Ms. Newman graduated in the top 10% of her law school class from the University of Florida, Holland Law Center, Gainesville, Florida. During law school Ms. Newman served as Executive Editor of Law Review, she received the Foundation Press Award for Jurisprudence and Honors in both Appellate Advocacy and in Legal Writing. Ms. Newman attended college at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida where she graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. Ms. Newman has lectured and written articles on various family law issues. Ms. Newman has been appointed as attorney ad litem for children in high conflict divorces and is a trained guardian ad litem.
Before opening her own firm, Ms. Newman practiced sophisticated and complex family law with the firm of Fisher & Bendeck in West Palm Beach and Abrams and Abrams in Miami. She was also in-house counsel to AmeriFirst Federal Savings and Loan in Miami.
